Humiston Woods Nature Center is located between Livingston County roads 1100 E and 1200 E on 2100 N about 6 miles west of exit #201 on I-55
The woods were originally used as a scout camp and county-wide picnic area.
In 1975 Joseph K, Jobst and the trust began to develop Humiston Woods Nature Center as an outdoor classroom. The woods has over 160 varieties of native plants and acompanying wildlife to enjoy
It has evolved into a unique natural retreat for individuals, families and groups. School programs, meetings, services, reunions and weddings are amongst activities scheduled annually at HWNC.
